Basi, the oldest panda in the world, turned 37 years old on Wednesday and celebrated the occasion at the Panda Research and Exchange Center in Fuzhou, in southeast China's Fujian Province.

Chen Yucun, the director of the center, said Basi was born on January 18, 1980, making her over 100 years old, if adjusted to human standards.
