The Brits are a nation of dog lovers, so as we celebrate the Chinese Year of the Dog, CGTN met up with London's first and only Dog Yoga instructor.
MAHNY DJAHANGUIRI DOGA INSTRUCTOR "Doga is human yoga. It's yoga for you and your dog. A lot of people think it's Dog Yoga — but actually dogs don't do yoga and they don't need to do yoga poses so that's kind of a misunderstanding."
So it is actually human yoga which dogs are invited into the session and there are allowed to roam around freely and just absorb our calm, our breathing, our poses and when it happens and when they are relaxed enough they just place themselves on the mat and that's when you start combining things and maybe start lifting your dog into a posture.
The weeing and the humming is part of yoga, you're working with animals. What are you going to do?
You can go really far with Doga, I think it's a real therapy and I also think for mental health it's really good - for humans who suffer depression.
They have yoga with rescue cats for adoption, that exists. There is bunny yoga so the bunnies are just on the mat doing lots of poo but they really like it. And there is goat yoga, people go to a farm and the baby goats jump on their back. I think you can do it with almost every animal.
