The 23rd session of the Conference of the Parties at the UN Convention on Climate Change is drawing to an end in the German city of Bonn.
Regarding China's measures to fulfill its aim of a carbon emissions peak by 2030, CGTN's correspondent Natalie Carney caught up with Dr. Chai Qimin, Chair of the National Center for Climate Change Strategy and International Cooperation.
"We already have several targets, we will peak around 2030, and we will make it earlier," Dr. Chai Qimin told CGTN. "We already made assessment especially for the last five years, actually we made a little bit head of our schedule."
In addition, Dr. Chai Qimin said Chinese government already put a lots efforts and financial supports on green energy.
"In the last five years, China has invested 5.8 trillion yuan in low-carbon development, also for the all period, which means from 2005 to 2030, we have a plan to invest about 41 trillion yuan in the low-carbon industry and also the sectors related, that will be increase about 63 million green jobs for China," he noted.
