Chinese President Xi Jinping stressed that the Party must exercise absolute leadership over the country's armed forces, which should be improved through reform and technology and managed in accordance with law. Xi made these remarks during his speech at the closing meeting of the first session of the 13th National People's Congress on Tuesday in Beijing. During the session, Xi was re-elected as Chinese President and Chairman of the Central Military Commission.
