The Chinese foreign ministry hailed Kim's visit, saying China and the DPRK will increase high-level exchanges to promote bilateral relations.  

LU KANG, SPOKESPERSON CHINESE FOREIGN MINISTRY "China and the DPRK have a tradition of high-level exchanges. In fact, high-level exchanges have played a leading role in promoting bilateral relations. During this visit, Chinese President Xi Jinping said he is willing to keep in frequent contact with Comrade Chairman through various forms, such as exchanging visits, and sending special envoys and letters to each other. China is willing to increase high-level exchanges, strengthen strategic communications and expand cooperation to benefit the people of both countries."
