In the Philippines, local media quoted disaster officials as saying at least four were killed and 12 others injured when a ferry sank off the coast of Quezon Province. The accident occurred near the town of Real, about 70 kilometers east of the capital Manila. The ferry – carrying at least 251 passengers – was reportedly headed towards a remote island in rough weather when the accident occurred.
