We're back with some weather news. It was a double whammy as snow and a sandstorm hit northwest China's Gansu Province on Friday. The extreme weather caused a rapid drop in both the temperature and visibility. Roads were covered with ice and snow, paralyzing transport. Local authorities launched an emergency plan, with traffic controls in place on the highways, in a bid to minimize the inconvenience to the public. From Saturday, the sandstorm is moving toward the east and south. Provinces such as Hebei, Shandong and Henan are expected to be affected.
