Belt & Road Media Community: Building a bridge for cultural communication in the new era

The ancient Silk Road began in the Chinese city Xi'an and this year, it is the host of the 2018 Belt and Road Media Community Summit Forum. Sun Tianyuan explains what the forum is all about.

The starting point of the ancient Silk Road is not expecting trade caravans today, but professionals from over 100 media outlets around the world.

They are here to join hands with China in building the international media community into one of the worlds' largest platforms for culture and innovation exchange.

The forum witnessed signings and launches of key cooperative projects, including the Eurasia News Sharing and Exchange Platform. The move is expected to enhance new resource sharing and cooperation efficiency among news agencies in the region.

The Belt and Road Media Community was launched by China Central Television and China International Television Corporation in 2016. So far, more than 100 media and production companies from over 50 countries and regions have joined in the group.
