Videos of a street gunfight involving gang members, a rare sight in China, have been making the rounds on Chinese social media.
Two groups of about 30 men got into a gunfight in Lufeng, in south China’s Guangdong Province at around 1 a.m. on Thursday, according to a brief statement released by the police.
Six people were injured and are now being treated in hospital, according to the statement. Their injuries were not life threatening however.

Police said seven people had been arrested and the manhunt for the others was underway. The fight was said to have been triggered by a debt dispute.
Police reported that the gangsters fled as soon as a police vehicle arrived at the scene, leaving those injured behind, according to the Beijing News.
“I felt scared when I heard the gunshot, then I shut the window,” media reports also quoted a witness as saying.

Shootings are a rare occurrence in China, where private ownership of guns is forbidden. However, the gunfight in Guangdong was the second shooting incident this week, following another one in the southwestern city of Panzhihua, where a city official opened fire on his colleagues on Wednesday morning.
The two incidents are now under investigation by the police.
