At least six people were killed and 11 others injured after a cloudburst struck Indian-controlled Kashmir on Thursday, Xinhua reports citing officials.

Local police said they have located six bodies while the injured were transferred to a local hospital.

"The cloudburst also damaged six houses, two shops and a private school building", a police spokesman said.

Search and rescue operations are underway, local authorities said.
