US President Donald Trump talks and tweets about the stock market frequently, and there are some analysts who say he's substituting his sinking poll numbers with the soaring stock market figures.
We're seeing lots of records on the big board. The Dow Jones hit 26,000 for the first time earlier this week. It came just 12 trading days after it hit 25,000. A big part of this surge is the tax cut package that Congress passed at the end of last year, which reduces corporate taxes by more than 10 percent – that's a direct boost to companies' bottom lines. This week, Trump touted the stock market gains, but also low unemployment figures.
