Over 70 people were injured after 10 coaches of a passenger train derailed in northern Indian state of Uttar Pradesh, reported Xinhua citing local officials.

The derailment took place at 2:40 a.m. on Wednesday local time, but the cause remains unclear at this stage.

This is the second train accident in less than a week in the Indian state. On August 19, a passenger train derailment in Uttar Pradesh left at least 23 people dead and over 80 injured.
