Inner Mongolia tornado kills five and affects thousands of people

A tornado has hit northern China's Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, killing five people and injuring at least another 58. The tornado hit the city of Chifeng’s Hexigten Banner and Ongniud Banner on Friday afternoon.
The injured have been sent to hospitals, and over 1,000 local residents were evacuated to four nearby schools. Makeshift shelters, food, drinking water and other necessities are being sent to the affected people.
The tornado also caused massive blackouts in over 3,000 households.
Authorities are trying to provide temporary electricity and rescue work is ongoing.
