Man sentenced to death in Yunnan over brutal murder

Yang Qingpei, who murdered 19 people on September 28, 2016, was sentenced to death and deprived of polictal rights for life by the intermediate court in Qujing, southwest China's Yunnan Province on Friday.
Yang was asking his parents for money to pay back the debts on the night of the tragedy. Discontent with his father's scold, Yang took a pickaxe and killed his parents.
He killed 17 more villagers, all of whom were his relatives, on his way to escape. The youngest victim was only three years old.
The police arrested Yang on September 29, 2016 in Kunming, the capital of Yunnan Province.
Yang said he accepts the verdict and will not appeal.
