Lifelong Vocational Skills Training System: China's State Council Information Office outlines policies, measures.
The State Council Information Office held a routine briefing this morning in Beijing about the implementation of the lifelong vocational skills training system in China.
The system will cover all workers in order to improve and promote the transition, upgrading and high-quality development of China's economy. It will be universally and equally accessible to workers in both cities and rural areas. By the end of 2017, the number of skilled workers in China reached about 165 million, with over 47 million being highly skilled talents. The State Council emphasized that the next government subsidy will cover all workers' trainings during their career process, giving full scope to the roles of enterprises as main players. It will also strengthen the training of high-tech talents, entrepreneurship and innovation.
TANG TAO, VICE MINISTER MINISTRY OF HUMAN RESOURCES AND SOCIAL SECURITY "Next, we will inject adequate funding into the implementation of the lifelong vocational skills training system, set up multiple input mechanisms of government, enterprises and society, and encourage enterprises to set up vocational training institutions. We will also strengthen the construction of basic platforms, establish training bases for high-skilled talents and the public, and at the same time enhance supervision on the quality of training."
