BRICS Film Festival opens in Chengdu

The second BRICS Film Festival opened in Chengdu, in southwest China's Sichuan Province on Friday, with filmmakers and government delegates from all five BRICS member states – Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa – attending the event. 
The first day of the festival was National Film Day, with the theme of "One day, One nation, One movie culture," in an attempt to showcase the film culture of each participating country.

This year's BRICS Film Festival is being held under the theme of openness, inclusiveness, cooperation and win-win situations. The five-day festival is a platform for filmmakers to explore areas of cooperation in film and culture. Thirty films are to be screened, and at the end of the festival "The Panda Award" will be granted to a stand-out filmmaker.
Jurors from China, South Africa, and India shared their views on the film industry development in BRICS member countries.
