Chinese President Xi Jinping on Friday attended a welcoming ceremony held in Osaka, Japan for the Group of Twenty (G20) leaders.
President Xi arrived in Osaka on Thursday to attend the 14th annual gathering of G20 where he will attend the plenary discussions of the summit, and discuss global economy and trade, the digital economy, inclusive and sustainable development, infrastructure, climate change and the environment with other leaders.
On the sidelines, Xi is expected to meet his U.S. counterpart Donald Trump, where the two leaders will exchange views on fundamental issues concerning the development of China-U.S. relations.
This year's meeting, slated for Friday to Saturday, also marks the seventh time Xi has attended or chaired a G20 summit and is the first-ever to be held in Japan.
