Flowers for arrangements are always beautiful, with vivid colors and adorable appearances. Normally, roses and lilies are the favorites ones, but even though the candle larkspur is not as famous, it is also a beautiful violet flower.

Candle larkspur originated in Europe and China. Because of the showy flowers, it was soon introduced and cultivated in other countries. The plant can produce tall spikes of bowl-shaped flowers in different shades of purple, blue, pink, and white, so gardeners and florists love it.

The candle larkspur is somewhat difficult to grow, but it is worth all of those efforts when the flowers bloom from June to September. It thrives in the cool summer and some new varieties can tolerate the heat. It needs to grow in fertile, well-drained soil in a sheltered, sunny site, as a strong wind might destroy it. It is recommended to water this plant not often but thoroughly.
