The interim injunction to restrain people from unlawfully and willfully obstructing or interfering with the proper use of the Hong Kong International Airport was extended, according to the latest Hong Kong media reports.
The restriction was issued by Hong Kong airport authorities on August 14, aiming to restrain protesters "from attending or participating in any demonstration or protest or public order event in the airport other than in the area designated by the Airport Authority," according to their statement.
"The interim injunction expressly provides that nothing in the interim injunction shall be construed as authorizing any demonstration, protest or public order event contrary to the Public Order Ordinance," the statement said.

The violent protests, which included attacks on travelers and a mainland journalist, paralyzed the airport for two consecutive days, causing a "serious disruption" to thousands of inbound and outbound travelers. The unrest has also dealt a severe economic blow to the region, with tourist numbers dropping by 31 percent during the first five days of August compared to the same period last year.
The High Court of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) approved the extension of the injunction on Friday without indicating how long it will last.
