The shield floatingheart, or Nymphoides peltatum, is a type of water lily fringed with yellow petals.
The perennial plant only blooms before noon for a day. Growing in clusters, however, its whole flowering period lasts more than four months.
It can be found in steady waters and slow streams at an elevation between 60 and 1,800 meters.
