The Customs Tariff Commission of the State Council will exclude some agricultural products, such as soybeans and pork, from the additional tariffs on U.S. goods, official sources said on Friday.

China will support domestic companies in the purchase of soybeans and pork from the U.S., following marketization principles and WTO rules, according to official sources.

China has a huge market, which has created a great future for importing high quality U.S. agricultural products, official sources added. China hopes the U.S. will fulfill its promise and create favorable conditions for cooperation between the two countries in the agricultural fields.

On Wednesday, the U.S. decided to postpone the additional five percent tariffs on 250 billion U.S. dollars worth of Chinese imports from October 1 to 15.

U.S. President Donald Trump said the delay is "a gesture of good will" that may help to patch up the damaged ties between the world's two largest economies.

China welcomes the U.S. decision on the postponed tariffs and hopes both sides are moving in the same direction to prepare for the next round of China-U.S. high-level economic and trade consultations in October, Gao Feng, spokesperson of China's Ministry of Commerce (MOFCOM), said on Thursday's press conference.
