A foot formation of female soldiers stole the spotlight during a military parade marking China's National Day celebrations in Beijing on Tuesday.

Comprised of 352 women soldiers from the People's Liberation Army coupled with the People's Armed Police, these troops marched past Tian'anmen Square led by female generals Cheng Xiaojian and Kang Bing at the front of the formation, the first time in the history of China's military parade.

Coming from front-line posts, these soldiers showed the world the important role of Chinese female soldiers in the new era.
