World leaders hail China's great achievements on its 70th anniversary

World leaders and dignitaries hailed China's rapid development over the past seven decades in extending congratulations to President Xi Jinping on the 70th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China (PRC). 

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi extended his wishes to the people of China on the 70th anniversary of the founding of the PRC.

He highlighted India's friendship with China in his congratulatory message, adding that India expects to further enhance political and economic ties as well as people-to-people exchanges with China.

Vietnamese leaders, including President Nguyen Phu Trong, also congratulated China on its 70th anniversary, adding that he hoped the two countries will resolve their tensions.

The president hailed China's development as a prosperous, democratic, culturally-advanced, harmonious and modernized country in his previous messages.

Congratulating China on its anniversary, Democratic People's Republic of Korea leader Kim Jong Un said his country would "stand by" its neighbor.

"Our party, government and people fully support the Chinese [Communist] Party, government and people in their struggle to defend the stability and the core interests of the country and achieve sustained development," Kim was quoted by the Korean Central News Agency as saying.

"We will always stand by them on the path of defending and glorifying socialism."

U.S. President Donald Trump extended congratulations to Chinese President Xi Jinping on the 70th anniversary of the founding of the PRC. 

French President Emmanuel Macron extended his warmest congratulations to China on behalf of the government and people of France.

Noting that both China and France are permanent members of the UN Security Council, Macron said he expects the two countries to jointly promote multilateralism.

Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe congratulated China on its tremendous achievements in national development, adding that Japan is ready to usher in a new era of bilateral ties.

Republic of Korea (ROK) President Moon Jae-in spoke highly of China's achievements over the past 70 years. He said he expected China to continue to contribute to peace and prosperity in Northeast Asia and the world as a whole.

Cambodian King Norodom Sihamoni highly praised the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) proposed by Chinese President Xi Jinping, stressing that Cambodia always stands with China.

Singaporean President Halimah Yacob noted in her message that China's development will not only benefit its people but also benefit the whole world.

Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte said that the people of the Philippines celebrate China's remarkable achievements in its national development together with the Chinese people. He hailed the hard struggle of the Chinese leader and the Chinese people.

Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev attributed the splendid achievement China has made in its national development to the wisdom and hard work of the Chinese people.

Egyptian President Abdel-Fattah al-Sisi wished China a peaceful and splendid future while noting that both China and Egypt, as ancient human civilizations, have made important contributions to global civilization.

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan highlighted China's increasingly important role in safeguarding regional and international peace and stability.

David Hurley, Australia's governor-general, stressed that Australia is committed to enhancing close cooperation with China under the framework of the comprehensive strategic partnership.

United Arab Emirates (UAE) President Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan extended the sincere wishes from the people of UAE. He wished the people of China health and happiness.

Zimbabwe President Emmerson Mnangagwa praised China's rapid development as it has evolved into the world second largest economy within decades.

Sierra Leonean President Julius Maada Bio said China set an example for all the developing countries in the world. He wished China greater success in the future.

Austrian President Alexander Van der Bellen applauded the hard struggle of Chinese people, noting that no other country could realize such successful development as China did in such a short time.

Greek President Prokopis Pavlopoulos underscored the long history of the two countries, vowing to strengthen bilateral ties for the well-being of the two peoples.

Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro pledged to play an active role in promoting the BRI. He also called for joint efforts in building a multipolar world.

Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif hailed China's contribution to multilateralism and international peace and security.
