Dragon's blood sedum: Crimson leaves in snow-covered ore mine
CGTN

Keketuohai Geopark in northwest China's Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region is renowned for its abundant mineral resources. However, there is more to the park than just the minerals. Along the path to Mine No. 480 in Keketuohai, purple-red dragon's blood sedum lies conspicuously in white snow.

Do not let its delicate appearance deceive you. The tiny succulent is actually very resistant to coldness and drought. Its leaves are usually green in warmer environments, and turn red in frigid winters. Ample sunshine and sharp temperature contrast have enabled the plant to grow even in the rocky ore mine.
