Chinese President Xi Jinping emphasized China's continuous opening-up and improvement in the global value and supply chain in his keynote address at the opening ceremony of the second China International Import Expo (CIIE) on Tuesday. Helmut Gassel, the chief marketing officer of German Infineon Technologies AG, was encouraged by the speech and talked to CGTN about his company's plans.
Infineon Technologies AG is a world leader in semiconductor solutions, and it is the second year that the company is attending the expo.
Gassel said he was inspired by President Xi's call for jointly building a world economy of openness and cooperation.
"Globally, acting companies like us are encouraged by the statement that China is going to continue on the path of opening up its economy…and heavily focus on innovation is very important as well, so that the whole innovation technology would be contributed to the further economic development," he said.

China has carried out numerous concrete measures like widening foreign access, improving China's business environment and increasing services imports, which has played a role in reinforcing global confidence in the Chinese market. Foreign companies are taking advantage of the opportunity to showcase their latest products at the expo. "Roboy" is Infineon's human-like robot with the ability to hear and express feelings.
"Our vision is to link the real world with digital world, by bringing lots of microelectronics and semi-conductors into applications…So I think 5G as well as the cloud and internet things would allow us to make life easier, safer and greener," said Gassel.
