Chinese President Xi Jinping has said China's opening-up is all-dimensional and all-round, and the country is making an effort to form a new pattern of all-round opening-up.

Xi made the remarks when delivering a keynote speech at the opening ceremony of the second China International Import Expo in Shanghai on Tuesday.

China encourages free trade zones to take bold steps and make an experiment, said President Xi. The country is carrying forward the free trade port construction in south China's Hainan Province.

China will continue to push forward the coordinated development of the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region, the development of the Yangtze River Economic Belt, the Yangtze River Delta as well as the building of Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.

The country will further promote the ecological protection and high-quality development of the Yellow River basin, said Xi.

The second CIIE has gathered political officials, business elites and heads of relevant international organizations from about 170 countries and regions.
