Northwest China's Huludao, which means "the gourd-like island" in English, is wrapped in beautiful autumn glitter. Located in Yuli County of Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, deep in the Taklamakan Desert, it gets the name from a gourd-shaped watercourse.
Apart from the landscape, Huludao is also known for the surrounding desert poplars. As the poplars turn gold every autumn, the blue lake, the yellow desert and the golden forest together create the stunning views of this region.
