Countries and regions from around the world are closing borders to people who had been in China (specifically Wuhan, the epicenter of the coronavirus outbreak), as officials ramp up efforts to prevent the spread of the virus.

Some have halted flights to and from China, although experts from the World Health Organization (WHO) have recommended against such measures.

"Travel restrictions can cause more harm than good by hindering info-sharing, medical supply chains and harming economies," the head of the World Health Organization (WHO) said on Friday.

Instead, the health committee recommended screening at border control areas.
