China and Indonesia share broad common interests at bilateral, regional and multilateral levels and enjoy huge potential for cooperation, Chinese President Xi Jinping said in his message on Monday.
President Xi and his Indonesian counterpart Joko Widodo exchanged congratulations on the 70th anniversary of the establishment of the two countries' diplomatic ties.

In his congratulatory message, Xi underlined that China-Indonesia relations have achieved considerable development over the past 70 years.
Especially in recent years, bilateral relations have continued to elevate with expanding and deepening cooperation, such as Belt and Road cooperation, delivering benefits to two peoples and contributing to regional and world stability and prosperity, Xi said.
Meanwhile, China will continue to work with Indonesia to overcome the COVID-19 pandemic, he added.

Echoing Xi's stance on bilateral ties, Joko underscored the cooperation between Indonesia and China has benefited people on the two sides.
In the spirit of open cooperation, Indonesia and China will promote common development and prosperity under the framework of comprehensive strategic partnership, so as to contribute to peace and stability in our region and globally, Joko said.
