A team of Chinese medical experts is currently in the Russian capital of Moscow to help the country fight against the novel coronavirus, sharing experiences and providing diagnosis and treatment guidance. 

The experts, who arrived in Moscow on Saturday, specialize in laboratory testing, prevention and control of infectious diseases, respiratory diseases, intensive care and Traditional Chinese Medicine. The team comprises of experts from the Chinese Center for Disease Control and Prevention, Heilongjiang Provincial Center for Disease Control and Prevention, and four hospitals in the province.  
  
The experts will share their COVID-19 experience with their Russian counterparts and offer special training for medics on the prevention, control, diagnosis and treatment of COVID-19 patients, said Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Zhao Lijian on Tuesday. 

The experts will also hold video conferences with Chinese citizens in Russia, including Chinese students and representatives of Chinese companies, to provide medical supplies and brief them on the ways to protect themselves during the outbreak, Zhao added. 

"At the most difficult time for China during the fight against the epidemic, Russia offered China firm support and assistance. At present, the rapid development of the epidemic situation in Russia is at a critical stage. As a comprehensive strategic cooperative partner for Russia, China feels the same. China and Russia will further strengthen cooperation in the fight against the disease, make concerted efforts, overcome difficulties, and jointly cope with the challenges of the epidemic situation," Zhao said. 

The team carried urgently-needed medical supplies donated by China, including surgical, medical and N95 masks along with other medical protective clothing.
