A 21-year-old man has been sentenced to four years in prison on Friday for his role in last June's rioting in Admiralty in Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR), after he pleaded guilty to the charge last week.
At the sentencing on Friday, district judge Amanda Woodcock said a riot has "an immediate and serious impact to the rule of law," which is the cornerstone of Hong Kong SAR.

It was the first rioting sentence handed down in HKSAR regarding the months-long social unrest that had thrown the city into chaos.
The man, a lifeguard for five years, was arrested near an entrance of the Legislative Council (LegCo) complex following clashes between violent protesters and police on June 12, 2019.
