Chinese and Indian border troops on Tuesday held the fourth-round talks at the corps commander level.

Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Hua Chunying said Wednesday that based on the three rounds of talks earlier, the two sides made further positive progress in taking effective measures to disengage frontline troops and ease the border situation.

China hoped the Indian side will meet China halfway, Hua said, implementing the consensus reached by the two sides with concrete actions and working together to maintain the peace and tranquility in the border region.
