Badgers are short-legged animals that make their home underground and their setts can have several entrances and tunnels. They are omnivores who like to eat earthworms, insects, birds and fruit.

The Asian badger (Meles leucurus) is a species of badger native to Mongolia, Russia and China. Footage of the badger has been recorded at Changbai Mountain. The nocturnal animal is mostly active in spring and autumn.

Changbai Mountain in northeast China is the major mountain range in Northeast Asia. Volcano, glacier, and primitive forest have provided an ideal harbor for countless flora and fauna. To better protect wildlife, Changbai Mountain Nature Conservation Management Center has settled many infrared cameras in the mountains, and from its footage, we can learn more about the secret life of species living there in the Journal of Changbai Mountain Species.
