Beijing will convert Shougang Park, an old steel production zone, into an e-sports park. State-owned steel company Shougang Group Co., Ltd. used to be based in Beijing but moved out of the city as part of an anti-pollution drive.

According to Xinhua, China's e-sports sector was worth about 94.05 billion yuan (about 13.69 billion U.S. dollars) in 2018.
