Spread over an area of about 36.86 square kilometers, Qilu Lake is a plateau lake in Tonghai County, southwest China's Yunnan Province. Close to Qilu Mountain, the lake is rich in aquatic life, such as shrimp, carp, herring and catfish. The lake was polluted by industrial use before but things are much better now thanks to a range of environmental protection measures. (Cover image by Yue Qi)
