The Miao is one of the ethnic groups in China with a long history. Some of them migrated to the Hainan island and settled down during the Ming Dynasty (1368-1644). They brought with them skills in dyeing cloth with plants, using ginger, indigos, Narra wood and Persicaria orientalis. Stay tuned for our coming live series to learn more about such skills.
