U.S. President-elect Joe Biden will receive his second dose of the COVID-19 vaccine on Monday, his office announced, three weeks after his first injection was broadcast live on TV to boost public confidence in the jab.

The second shot for the 78-year-old will also be administrated in front of the media, his office said without providing further details.

Biden got his first dose of the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine at the Christiana Hospital in Newark, Delaware on December 21, 2020.

According to U.S. media, Biden will aim to release nearly every available dose of the coronavirus vaccine when he takes office later this month.
