The Chinese Embassy in Myanmar advised Chinese nationals in the country to take greater safety precautions and avoid crowd gatherings.
In a short statement issued on Monday following a military takeover in the country, the embassy also advised Chinese citizens to abide by local laws and regulations and not to participate in any political events.
It also encouraged people to stock up on necessities and stay at home as much as possible.
