A sandstorm originating in Mongolia hit Beijing on March 15, turning the sky yellow and disrupting people's daily life. The Beijing Meteorological Service issued a yellow alert for a sandstorm at 7:25 a.m. on the day, saying Beijing would see increased levels of dust and reduced visibility until noon. However, the meteorological disaster, which should has been discussed from a scientific point of view, became an "opportunity" for some Western media to make negative news about China due to the rare sandstorms in Beijing and other cities in the past decade.

Jason, a British vlogger living in China for 10 years, explains how Western media discredited China over the sandstorm in Beijing and points out that in all of these articles, a patronizing, superior tone is used when describing China.
