The annual Boao Forum for Asia (BFA) has fundamentally changed Boao, leaving plenty of symbolic landmarks on the soil of the 86-square-kilometer water town.

The site of BFA's inaugural ceremony, BFA Theme Park, witnessed the first annual conference of the BFA on February 27, 2001. Over 400 officials, experts and scholars from Asia attended the conference.

The main building of the park is a membrane construction covering an area of 3,000 square meters. It took just over one month to finish the construction of the white cone-shape building, while the expected construction period was four months.  

Located along the beautiful Wanquan riverside, the site is open to visitors from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. all the year around.
