The 27th Shanghai TV Festival (STVF) and 24th Shanghai International Film Festival (SIFF), sponsored by the National Radio and Television Administration, China Media Group (CMG) and Shanghai Municipal People's Government, will be held on June 6-10 and June 11-20, respectively, the festival announced at a press conference in Beijing on Friday.

The press conference introduced the basic situation of the two festivals and some highlight activities.

The 27th STVF and the 24th SIFF will run through the theme of the centenary of the founding of the Communist Party of China (CPC). This year's film festival and TV festival will focus on the screening of a number of domestic films and dramas, and has planned a film poster exhibition of the centenary of the founding of the CPC, aimed to showcase the historical process of the CPC leading the Chinese people to become strong and rich.

This year's film festival will carry out offline film viewing, fan meeting and other activities under the condition of ensuring epidemic prevention and control measures. In addition, the festival will hold an opening ceremony to arouse audience interests and increase participation.

According to the conference, the committee will also launch the SIFF Young Filmmakers Support Program, a joint initiative of the Shanghai International Film Festival and the Cannes Film Market. This is the first time that the project will be presented to the public at the SIFF, aiming to support young filmmakers and pay attention to their development.

This year, the "Belt and Road" Film Week will showcase a series of films recommended by the Belt and Road Film Festival Alliance. This year's film week for the first time pushed the screening activities to five cities in Jiangsu, Zhejiang and Anhui provinces, so that movie fans in the Yangtze River Delta region can share the latest achievements of filmmakers from countries along the "Belt and Road" in the bigger screens.

The festival will officially open its ticket sales channel on June 5. During the festival, more than 400 films will be shown in 40 cinemas.
