Chinese President Xi Jinping said on Wednesday that China-Kazakhstan cooperation within the framework of the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) has brought solid benefits to their people while calling for more ties in productivity, trade, agriculture, and infrastructure of the two countries.

He made the remarks in a phone conversation with his Kazakh counterpart, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev.

China will also continue to strengthen medical service cooperation with Kazakhstan, including online treatment and traditional medical science, the Chinese president added, vowing to keep on assisting Kazakhstan in the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic.

China and Kazakhstan have been permanent comprehensive strategic partners since 2019. Calling that friendship "a relationship with deep root and strong impetus," Xi pledged to deepen the ties on all fronts.

On his part, Tokayev first delivered congratulations on the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China (CPC). China has made historical achievements under the strong leadership of Xi, he pointed out.

Tokayev doubled down on the idea of building a community of shared future for mankind, especially in time of the coronavirus pandemic, thanking China for the "valuable" assistance, including the COVID-19 vaccines.

The Kazakh president also agreed to push forward Kazakh-Chinese cooperation and jointly construct the Belt and Road Initiative.
