China and the United States have resumed normal communications in the economy and trade fields and have agreed to cooperate to solve specific issues for producers and consumers, the Ministry of Commerce (MOFCOM) said Thursday.
Chinese Vice Premier Liu He, also the chief of the Chinese side of the China-U.S. comprehensive economic dialogue, held video talks with U.S. Trade Representative Katherine Tai on May 27 and U.S. Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen on June 2.

"Both sides believe the exchanges are professional, frank and constructive and have resumed normal communications in the fields of economy and trade," Gao said.
The two sides held that bilateral economic and trade relations are very important, with many specific areas for cooperation, and raised their own concerns, the spokesperson said.
Both sides also agreed to work together to solve specific problems for producers and consumers from the perspective of benefiting the two countries and the world and promoting healthy and stable Sino-U.S. trade ties, Gao said.
