President Xi Jinping will grant the July 1 Medal to outstanding members of the Communist Party of China (CPC) at a ceremony in the Great Hall of the People in Beijing on Tuesday.

Xi, also general secretary of the CPC Central Committee and chairman of the Central Military Commission, will also deliver a speech at the ceremony.

The July 1 Medal, established by the CPC Central Committee, is being awarded for the first time this year as the Party celebrates its centenary and is the CPC's highest honor.
