Colombian President Ivan Duque Marquez extended thanks and greetings to Chinese President Xi Jinping, the Chinese government and the Chinese people for the donation of materials, technical expertise and assistance in the procurement of COVID-19 vaccines for Colombia.

Colombia is deeply grateful for China's support and assistance since the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries, Duque said, adding that China's recent support for the COVID-19 vaccination process in Colombia has further strengthened bilateral ties and created more development opportunities for the two peoples.

President Xi in March delivered a speech via video link to the Colombian people, and hailed the solidarity and cooperation between the two countries in the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic.
