Foreign investment flows to China jump by 25.5% in January-July

Foreign direct investment (FDI) flows to China rose by 25.5 percent year on year to $100.7 billion from January to July, excluding banking, securities and insurance sectors, data from the Ministry of Commerce showed on Monday.

Foreign investment in China's services industry increased by 29.2 percent in the first seven months, accounting for 79.7 percent of the country's total FDI. Wholesale and retail trade sectors saw FDI climb by 69.3 percent year on year during the period.

High-tech industries attracted an increase of investment by 34.1 percent year on year.

Investment from the countries along the Belt and Road increased by a yearly 46.3 percent, while investment from the Association of Southeast Asian Nations expanded at the same pace.
