Personal computer (PC) giant Lenovo Group on Wednesday announced its profit growth soared 62 percent to a record high of $640 million in the quarter ended December 31, driven by accelerating investments in digital transformation, rising IT service demand and growing trend of cloud computing and a hybrid work model.
The quarterly revenue rose 17 percent to $20.1 billion, beating an average estimate of $18.4 billion from 10 analysts, according to Refinitiv data.
Due to business recovery and strong momentum in the premium segment such as gaming laptops, the company's PC segment reported a double-digit revenue growth, according to its financial result.
The company's R&D investment in the quarter rose 38 percent year on year, according to the result.
