Yoon Suk-yeol, the president-elect of the Republic of Korea (ROK), on Thursday vowed to build strong defense, but leave the door open for dialogue with the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK).
Yoon made the comments at a press conference after his election victory.
Yoon, leader of the main conservative opposition People Power Party, garnered 48.56 percent support in the presidential election held on Wednesday, defeating his liberal rival by a narrow margin.
