Hidden world of birds in the city: Highlight moments
CGTN

Editor's note: Hidden World of Birds in City is about exploring a world of birds that usually goes unnoticed in urban spaces. This episode features photographs from Wang Xiaobo, who has been bird-watching near his residential community in Beijing for the past eight years.

So far, Wang has recorded 192 species of birds that flew past or permanently stay in his community. The latest "new visitor" is the Saker falcon as shown in the following three photos. Although the images were taken far from the bird, Wong is still unable to contain his excitement as his ultimate goal is to find out the species that come to his community, rather than just taking pictures.

The following two photos of crested honey buzzards were taken by Wang last year. He said he spotted the flock of 35 buzzards afar, circling close to mountains on the outskirts of Beijing. It then took these birds 35 minutes to reach his community since they hover a lot during the journey either to wait for the wind or for their companions.
