On April 8, 2022, Shanghai reported 1,015 confirmed new COVID-19 cases and 22,609 asymptomatic cases. CGTN Global Stringer contacted Ruyou, a volunteer at a temporary hospital in Shanghai's Chongming District in the China Flower Expo park. He filmed the preparations before entering the temporary hospital as well as the situation inside.
